Changing Suprapubic Catheters

Aims & objectives:
  • Understand the reasons for suprapubic catheterisation

  • Know the structure and function of the bladder

  • Understand the principles of infection control

  • Know the complications and difficulties with suprapubic catheterisation

  • Know the types of catheters

Who should attend:

Qualified Nurses: In order to attend these courses it is important that you:

  • Have a competent mentor to supervise your practice

  • Complete all the assessments within 6 months

  • Your manager must be aware and have nominated you for this course.

Cost: £35 per place (if booked with Male Catheterisation £60 charge for both)
