Respiratory Study Day

AIMS & OBJECTIVES: At the end of the day nurses will be able to:
  • Relate the relevant anatomy and physiology to the use of CPAP/BiPAP therapy.

  • Identify the conditions in which CPAP/BiPAP therapy is appropriate and demonstrate the ability to assess the suitability of patients to receive CPAP/BiPAP therapy.

  • Assemble the CPAP/BiPAP circuits, establish and monitor therapy.

  • Relate the physical and psychological care to the provision of respiratory support.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

  • Qualified Nurses: In order to attend these courses it is important that you:

  • Will be able to use this competency on average at least twice each week

  • Have a competent mentor to supervise your practice

  • Complete all the assessments within 6 months

  • Your manager must be aware and have nominated you for this course.
