Diabetes care

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust runs specialist Diabetes Centres at both St Richard’s and Worthing Hospitals, enabling patients to be cared for close to home.

These consultant-led services offer a full range of treatments and investigations for people with diabetes and diabetes-related illnesses.

We help patients diagnosed as having diabetes through the subsequent process of assessment, education, treatment and stabilisation to extend their freedom from long-term complications.

Our diabetes specialist nurses also run educational group sessions to help patients transfer from insulin tablets to injections they can give themselves.

Learning more about their condition and meeting fellow patients through these group sessions has been found to give sufferers more confidence in self-treatment and help them return to normal living as quickly as possible.
