Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist
Dr Nick Child joined Western Sussex Hospitals in 2018. He trained in general cardiology and has a special interest in treating abnormal heart rhythms (electrophysiology), complex cardiac pacemakers and cardiac MRI.
Having completed his general cardiology training in a number of hospitals around Hampshire and Dorset he underwent dedicated electrophysiology and complex device fellowships initially at Southampton and Bournemouth, and subsequently a further post-training fellowship at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London. He has international accreditation in both electrophysiology and cardiac devices (IBHRE).
Dr Child is also an honorary consultant at University Hospital Southampton where he performs his electrophysiology procedures.
He is completing his MD with King's College London, and has published on a wide variety of topics including atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, cardiac physiology and cardiac MRI. He has 27 peer-reviewed publications including a number as first author and has been invited to give presentations at international conferences.
Professional interests: All forms of adult cardiology, especially cardiac rhythm management, cardiac pacemakers and cardiac MRI.
