Council of Governors discuss hospitals in West Sussex

Thursday January 12, 2017

How hospitals in Chichester, Worthing and Shoreham engage with their members and the public will be discussed at a meeting on Thursday 19 January in Worthing.

The Council of Governors of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs three hospitals in West Sussex, will meet in public in the Denham Room, Conference Centre, Worthing College, Worthing, West Sussex, BN14 9FD.

Beginning at 9.30am, the two-hour meeting includes an update from the Membership Committee, as well as a review from the Chief Executive of the trust’s performance over the past three months.

More than 30 governors, whose role is to represent the local population and help the trust meet local health needs, will also receive a report from their new Lead Governor, John Thompson, and discuss quality priorities for the coming year.

Chairman, Mike Viggers, said: “We welcome members of the public attending our meetings and learning more about how their hospitals are managed.

“As a Foundation Trust we are accountable to our members, as well as the public we serve, and we are keen to hear people’s views about our acute health services.”

The next quarterly meeting of the Trust’s Council of Governors will take place on Tuesday 13 June 2017, Mickerson Hall, Chichester Medical Education Centre, St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 6SE.
