Get in as an apprentice, earn as you learn, and go far in the NHS

Tuesday March 6, 2018

Do you wish to earn while you learn? And work for one of the area’s leading employers?

Why not apply for an apprenticeship with Western Sussex Hospitals – Health Education England’s regional Apprentice Employer of the Year 2017.

This week, the NHS trust which runs Worthing Hospital, St Richard’s in Chichester and Southlands in Shoreham is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week (5-9 March) with series of events for its existing apprentices and those who may wish to apply through its apprenticeship programme.

Current opportunities include physiotherapy, pharmacy, medical imaging and healthcare apprenticeships, as well as business administration apprenticeships with hospital teams such as Sexual Health, Sterile Services and the Project Management Office.

Chief workforce officer, Denise Farmer, said: “We’re very proud to be one of the area’s largest employers of apprentices, many of whom take up full-time positions with us once they qualify.

“We offer a really broad range of opportunities which helps us to attract talented young people who understand the benefits of getting into the NHS early for a very rewarding, and potentially life-long career.”

Anyone interested should contact the trust directly by emailing apprenticeships@wsht.nhs.uk or apply through the national apprenticeship website – www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship.
