Mabuhay! Matrons welcome nurses arriving from the Philippines
Seven more nurses flew in from the Philippines last week to start their new lives here working for Western Sussex.
Bizarrely, for 41-year-old clinical instructor Fidelo Tannola the British weather played a part in his decision!
He said: “For 41 years I have been complaining about the heat and brightness in the Philippines!” On a more serious note, Fidelo said that having hit 40 he wanted to do something new and exciting.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Kyra Gargantiel wants to take advantage of the increased opportunties for nurses working in the UK, compared to the lower wages back home.
She said: “I’m so grateful for this opportunity and everyone has been so kind, accommodating and hospitable.”
