MSK contract update: Independent joint impact assessment commissioned

Tuesday November 4, 2014

The Trust has agreed with Coastal West Sussex CCG to commission an independent joint impact assessment  looking at its decision to award a £235M MSK services prime provider contract to Bupa CSH Ltd, first announced in September, 2014.

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has raised a number of concerns about the impact this contract would have on wider hospital services, including trauma, and we are pleased these are now being taken very seriously.

To allow time for the impact assessment to be fully investigated and produced, the CCG has also confirmed that any new contract will now begin after March 31, 2015.

Patients currently receiving treatment will continue to receive care from the existing teams and services.

The current services will continue to be provided in the same way and there will be no change for any patients receiving care locally.

Should there  be there any changes might affect patients, clear information will be provided as soon as possible with contact information for anyone who has queries or questions.
