Blue badge holders are able to park for free in the designated disabled spaces, but normal charges apply in the main car parks.
You will receive a ticket at the barrier on entry and should pay at the pay station before returning to your car. The ticket returned to you at the pay station can then be used to open the exit barrier on leaving.
Car park pay stations accept coins, notes and debit/credit cards, give change and have an intercom if you need help.
If you have an appointment at the hospital and are unable to find a parking space please ask one of our parking wardens for help.
In the event of a patient being admitted to hospital for a period in excess of 14 days the next of kin or a nominated visitor will be offered reduced parking costs of a maximum rate of one hour charge/visit for any further visits at St Richard’s Hospital. Please ask on the ward for more information.
Bicycle parking facilities are available outside the Accident & Emergency department to the west of the main entrance.
Motorcycles can also be parked free of charge outside A&E (opposite the ambulance bays), and next to the Jubilee Dental Centre (opposite the Day Surgery Unit).
Electric vehicle charging points are not yet available.
Parking Charge Notices
Please look out for the signs in our car parks and on roadways around the hospital which explain where you can and cannot park. Parking Charge Notices (PCN) may be issued against vehicles failing to comply – for example, parking in hatched areas, out of a bay or in a manner that causes an obstruction.
If you are issued with a PCN, you can appeal against it at www.ukpcappeals.co.uk/options. To make an appeal, you will need your vehicle registration and the PCN reference number (you can find this at the top of the PCN notice).
Please note: this procedure is only for appealing Parking Charge Notices. If you have any concerns about car parking fees or problems with payments, please speak to a car park warden or contact the trust on the telephone number below.
