Safer staffing

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust changed its name to University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust on 1 April 2021 when it completed the formal acquisition of Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The information on these pages covers the period before 1 April 2021 in which it was known as Western Sussex Hospitals. For information about the trust and its governance after this date, please visit uhsussex.nhs.uk.

At Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust we are committed to ensuring the most appropriate number of staff at the right grade are available to care for our patients.

You can download below details of our planned versus actual staffing levels for nursing and care staff for each ward, collected in line with NHS England’s new Safer Staffing commitments.
