Core Surgery – Clinical work and support

Trainees are allocated an Educational Supervisor at the start of the programme who will meet regularly with the trainee to discuss progress in the training programme. Trainees will also be allocated a Clinical supervisor(s) for each attachment.

Junior doctors in training have regular opportunities to attend clinic and theatres with all consultants within their department. They are particularly encouraged to attend the emergency and trauma lists as much as possible.

The Orthopaedic department has excellent support from the care of the elderly team as orthogeriatricians play a significant role in post-operative management of our elderly population.
