Paediatrics – Shift practice and rota

A 1 in 7 full shift rota for tier 1 trainees is in operation. 

On-Call for trainees:

Day: 9am – 5pm

Transitional care shift: 9am – 2pm

CAU shift: 11am – 7.30pm Monday-Thursday / 11am – 7pm Friday

Evening shift: 5pm – 9pm

Night shift: 8.30pm – 9.30am

 

The resident on call consultant shifts are 4 evenings in 6 weeks and 2-3 night shifts per week

The work pattern and intensity of the rota is regularly monitored by diary card exercises to ensure compliance with New Deal and EWTD guidance.
