Trauma and Orthopaedics

The Orthopaedic Unit

Two Orthopaedic wards on one floor with 68 beds.  The orthopaedic secretariat and Consultant offices are midway between the wards, the out-patient department and Accident and Emergency.

There are the required number of beds for children as needed and the same for Orthogeriatrics and all Neck of Femurs are admitted to a dedicated Orthogeriatric ward.

There is a dedicated treatment centre for day case surgery.  There are specialist knee, upper limb, revision joint replacement, paediatrics and orthopaedic-rheumatology clinics.  There is a well established Pre-admission clinic.

The department is well equipped with trauma equipment, arthroscopic surgical facilities and joint replacement.  The Consultants have special interests in arthroscopy, upper limb, hands, foot and ankle, and revision arthroplasty.
