Cardiovascular – Clinical work and support

There is a weekly echocardiography list for each registrar to allow trainees to gain BSE accreditation.

There are a variety of specialist clinics including heart failure, rapid access chest pain clinic, arrhythmia clinics (tertiary referral), valvular heart disease clinics, supervised and lead by consultants.

The cardiovascular medicine team are on take for acute cardiac admissions every day. This service allows the registrars to gain excellent experience in the acute assessment of all the common cardiac emergencies under consultant supervision.

There is provision of an office with computer facilities and internet access for accessing the scientific literature.

Clinical research is strongly encouraged, and registrars traditionally submit a variety of successful papers during their time at Worthing.
