Microbiology – Educational opportunities

Aside from daily Consultant teaching on ward rounds, trainees attend the Infection Trainee’s regional teaching in Brighton one afternoon per week (Wednesdays), and the bi-monthly London Infection teaching.  Trainees can also attend the Friday morning Clinical Infection meetings in Brighton when able.

Trainees are encouraged to attend and/or present at national meetings such as Federation of Infection Societies and British Infection Association.

There are weekly lunchtime medical presentations at Worthing Hospital that the team usually attend and present at when required.

There is an opportunity for the trainee to take part in the teaching of Medical Students from Brighton and Kings Medical Schools during their Worthing Hospital attachments.
