Jane Ramage

Appointed Governor: Friends of WSHFT Hospitals and RVS

“I am Chairman of the Friends of Chichester Hospitals, and the appointed governor representing the three volunteer Friends’ charities which support the Trust’s hospitals (St Richard’s, Worthing, Southlands), and the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS).

The Friends and RVS provide services such as hospital shops, ward trolley and cafes, and so come into regular contact with patients, visitors and staff

As a teacher and lecturer, I have worked in a variety of environments and with people from all walks of life. I have served as a school governor, company director, and have been Chairman of the local British Heart Foundation branch for 10 years. Each of these involvements has given me further understanding of corporate governance and the workings of large institutions, both in the public and private sector.

I joined the Friends to help make a difference for patients and staff, and the same aim is at the heart of my work as a governor, so my priority is to ensure that the Trust Board delivers the appropriate high quality health provision to the people of Western Sussex.”
