Moira Whitlock

Staff Governor: Nursing and Midwifery

“My career has been extremely varied, from waitressing, window cleaning, business owner and even selling up everything I had, to work on a farm in Israel following by travel to Spain and Paris! I am always open to a challenge and an adventure.

I am Mum to 2 children and have lots of animals, so life is very busy.

I started nursing as a Health Care Assistant on the ITU which made me realise that Nursing was the career for me and I became a student nurse.  I have worked as a RN across most disciplines and have been a ward sister for many years.   Recently I have been seconded to the Parkinson’s team as a Parkinson Nurse specialist, completely out of my comfort zone but love that my journey of learning continues. I also work at weekends on the wards to keep my skills up-to-date.

I am as passionate now about Nursing as I was when I started and really live by the “Patient First” methodology that runs throughout the Trust.

I am so proud to have been nominated for the role of Staff Governor and will do my best to support the Trust and all that it stands for.”
