Members

The work of our hospitals touches the lives of hundreds of thousands of people every year – whether directly as patients or indirectly through our care of someone they know or love.

Around 7,500 of them have so far stepped forward to join us as members of our NHS Foundation Trust.

Some of these members want to make sure their views are heard when we are setting our priorities for the future. Some of them want to keep up to date with what is happening in the trust and be reassured that our standards are being maintained and improved wherever possible.

And others just want to say thank you for the care they have received here and show their support for the work of our staff.

All of them are very welcome, and their interest in the hospitals is greatly appreciated.

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust merged with Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust  on 1 April 2021 to become University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust

Like Western Sussex, the new organisation is a Foundation Trust supported by local members and publicly elected Governors.

We are now looking for thousands of new members who represent the communities we serve across West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Mid Sussex and East Sussex but if you are already a member we will automatically transfer your membership to the new organisation when it is founded.

If you would like to join them, this section of the website will tell you more about the benefits of membership and the ways in which you can get involved.

Becoming a member is simple – and free. You can sign up instantly online or download a form  to complete and post back to us.

We very much hope you will want to join us.
